Michael J. Torchia Recipient of the Honorable Joseph M. Nardi Jr. Distinguished Service Award from the Rutgers Camden School of Law

(Huntingdon Valley, PA: December 4, 2017) Managing Member Michael  J. Torchia, was awarded the Honorable Joseph M. Nardi Jr. Distinguished Service Award from Rutgers Camden School of Law.  The award, which was presented on November 30th at Rutgers University Camden commemorated the life and accomplishments of the Honorable Joseph M. Nardi Jr., a highly respected retired Superior Court judge, former Camden Mayor, and 1956 graduate of the Rutgers Camden School of Law who passed away in 2003.  Mr. Torchia, is a proud alumnus of Rutgers Camden School of Law, class of 1991 and is a member of its adjunct faculty along with other distinguished alumni in its Trial Advocacy course. Since his graduation, he has served in various roles in its Alumni Association including Chancellor from 1998-2000.

Mr. Torchia is a managing member of the 27 attorney firm Semanoff Ormsby Greenberg & Torchia, LLC in Huntingdon Valley, PA. He has practiced employment law since his graduation from Rutgers Camden School of Law in 1991. He routinely and successfully represents local, regional, national, and international businesses of all sizes in state and federal courts throughout the country on a variety of litigation matters. He has been the attorney in several important employment law decisions in the state, including a Pennsylvania Supreme Court decision. Mr. Torchia has an extensive “workplace investigations” practice, hired by other attorneys to conduct sexual harassment and discrimination investigations and to testify about his findings, and serves as an expert witness in workplace investigations. He speaks extensively on employment law topics and emerging legal issues. He works with human resources professionals to accurately provide preventative strategies and practical advice.
