About
Professional Background
As an experienced transactional attorney, Jonathan C. Wargo advises clients on a wide array of business and corporate matters. With a focus on mergers and acquisitions, Mr. Wargo represents businesses and investors across industries in structuring, negotiating, and closing complex transactions, including strategic acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. In addition to his M&A practice, Mr. Wargo counsels clients on all matters relating to business formation, corporate governance, capital raising, equity compensation, and day-to-day business operations.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Wargo worked in the private equity groups of two highly ranked AmLaw 100 law firms, where he represented private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, and institutional investors in middle-market, large-cap, and cross-border transactions. Mr. Wargo’s experience also includes advising veterinary and healthcare-focused private equity funds, institutional investors, and emerging growth companies in transactions exceeding several billion dollars in aggregate value.
Mr. Wargo earned his J.D., cum laude, from Rutgers School of Law–Newark, where he served as the Commentaries Editor of the Rutgers Law Review, and his B.S. in Environmental Policy from Rutgers University. Outside the office, Mr. Wargo enjoys playing blues guitar, watching soccer, and spending time with his wife and kids at their home in New Jersey.
